Devon Chisholm, M.A., CCC-SLP

Devon’s path toward a career in speech-language pathology began after seeing first hand the impacts of communication and swallowing disorders on people and their loved ones. She graduated with her master's from the University of Northern Colorado and completed her medical internship at the University of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Medical Campus. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a licensed SLP in the state of Colorado.

Devon has spent many years working with diverse populations in hospital, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, home health and outpatient healthcare settings, partnering with other medical professionals in the pursuit of excellent care for her patients. She has a thorough understanding of the underlying medical problems associated with communication and swallowing disorders.

With a special interest in professional networking and community integration, Devon has been on professional advisory committees, provided consultation and educational in-services for healthcare staffs in numerous institutions throughout the Denver-Metro region, implemented dementia programing in senior living facilities, and both developed and facilitated brain-fitness classes for elders in the community.

Having a driven focus in post graduate continuing education and for application of evidenced-based interventions, Devon has earned certifications, experience, and insight for addressing the needs of adults with communication and swallowing impairments, including geriatric training and becoming a National Dementia Practitioner.

Most satisfying achievements have been helping people improve their wellbeing and connection to others. She also greatly appreciates the opportunity to hear stories of life and wisdom from her patients.

In addition to speech therapy, Devon enjoys reading, traveling, jigsaw puzzles, figure skating, and various outdoor activities such as skiing and hiking. She most enjoys sharing the joy of these pastimes with her family and close friends.
